Kids' Ministry "All Stars For Jesus"

OPEN GYM   Monday thru Thursday 2:30 - 6 pm
        KIDS' CLUB Monday 4.30 - 6 pm
        KIDS' CHURCH   Wednesday 5:30 - 7 pm and Sunday 10:30 am - 1 pm

Our childrens' ministry is dedicated to teaching children of all ages the Word of God. Even they need and are able to understand that God and his Word are relevant to their everyday lives. As they are building a relationship with God, they are learning to be "a light in the darkness" in their homes and neighborhood. The Word of God empowers them to take a stand in the spiritual warfare around them - and to be victorious!
We believe that children are an important part in the Body of Christ. Opening our hearts and home to them, we create a community in which all members are valued and contribute to the whole. We provide for them a Christian environment where children are welcome, appreciated, supported, nurtured, and growing both personally and spiritually. Our goal is to create a safe, loving environment for them to find the love of God, to worship Jesus, and to plant within the children a hunger for God's Word. We believe this will also strengthen their families and the Oglala Oyate (community) in Christ. We encourage development of their leadership skills, talents and spiritual gifts, to help them prepare for a life of ministry.

        Halloween 2011

Always a great chance to love on our kids, since everybody loves treats! :-) We had the Rec open till all the candy was gone and enjoyed a fun time seeing the youngsters (and some older folks, too) dressed up and ready to trick us into more!

        VBS 2011

Honk! HonK! our old van is sounding through the neighborhood. Still sleepy kids and their little brothers, sisters or cousins (sometimes only "clothed" in diapers :-) are getting picked up and taken to the Rec, where they will enjoy a snack and kids' program. VBS, that means time for Bible stories, games, fun, crafts, and everything else that makes summer so awesome. What would the rez be without VBS? All around here there's no swimming pool, no movie theater, barely any playgrounds, and not much of anything else to do either - and all that with three long months of summer vacation to enjoy!
One of the VBS-topics for this year was "Courage". Courage to do the right thing - even if nobody is doing it with you. Courage to not to bad things - even if everyone's doing them. And courage to follow Jesus - come what may. Illustrated in songs, drama, crafts, etc. the children learned Psalm 56:3 by heart: "When I am afraid, I will trust in you, Lord."
