Mother`s Day        May 12

Studying the life of Elizabeth (mother of John the Baptist), we celebrated not just moms but also all the other people God put into our lives to bless us. Their loving acts and kind words are seeds that can grow beautiful fruit in our own lives. The guys had prepared a delicious meal, so after church we took time to fellowship and enjoy.

Click on the link on the right to read a touching account of Jeff & Stacey`s daily ministry work at the RecCenter. Sometimes all you see on our website are "nice pictures", but reality holds a lot of pain and suffering for the people we encounter.

Cherry Hills Christian School     April 22-25

This is what the Rec gym looks like when eighty (!) 8th graders plus twenty-five teachers and parents come to stay! However it does not seem like our youth feels overrun but everyone is quickly making friends and hanging out together. Actually it really is a lot of fun, and the beauty & spa day today was a great success with all the little princesses in Oglala.

RecCenter Newsletter     April 2013

Since you`re reading this on our website, chances are you already know most of what we talk about in the newsletter... And that's great - thanks for staying updated! But please check out the newsletter anyway. And if you would, thank you so much for taking a moment to pray for us and His ministry here in Oglala. The greatest news of all is that GOD IS NOT DONE YET! In fact, the answers to your prayers might become the "hot news" in the next newsletter... :-)

Worship Burn    April 12-13

Friday 6 pm through Saturday 6 pm

We just started into the 24 h Worship Burn with  Ken Verheecke and band. Once again this event comes together as musicians / worship leaders from the area join us here in Oglala under the leadership of Native Nations Ablaze (www.nativenationsablaze.com). God put it on their hearts as a passionate vision to "raise a sound of worship on tribal lands". We are expecting to rest in the presence of God as the worship burn continues through the night and all the way until tomorrow evening. Please pray with us that worship will break the power of darkness on the reservation, and God`s light will bring freedom!

Easter Celebration Service     March 31

A special day to fellowship and celebrate the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ!

Good Friday Service          March 29

Commemorating the sacrifice and suffering of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we met with our church family and friends to celebrate Passover. It was our first ever Good Friday Service, but definitely not the last. We shared songs and the story of Passover, had communion together, and also enjoyed some (almost authentic :-) Jewish lamb soup and baklava.

Playground Fun     March 28

Spring break and sunshine - it can`t get any better!

Summer Teams 2013
March 18-23

We decided that we didn`t have to wait around for spring to kick in just to
welcome our first Summer Mission Teams to the Rec! :-) The two college teams have been putting in some serious work tearing down the old bunkhouse trailer on our property, and they are also having a great time just hanging out with the kids and teens at the Rec gym and playground.

Open Gym  February

While winter still keeps its icy grip on the prairie, we enjoy many fun days in the Rec gym just hanging out with the kids and teens who come to play ball or buy pop and pickles.

Kids' Church Field Trip    January 3

As a reward for their commitment and participation in the Christmas Musical, our childrens' pastors Terry & Kathy took several kids for a field trip today. They ate and played at a fun restaurant and came back with big smiles on their faces!

New Year's Eve Lock-In 2012/13

The night flew by fast while we were having a lot of fun and time to hang out together with about 80 teenagers from Oglala. The Lock-In started at 12 midnight with a short devotion focusing on self-control by waiting on God and asking Him to help us soar like eagles. Next we played a group game trying to find out "Who is smarter than a 5th grader?" Good thing a few elementary school kids had smuggled into the crowd! :-) The rest of the New Year's Night was spent with basketball, pizza, pop, board & brain games, and several fun competitions in the gym. Congratulations, Cecil, on being the strongest man in Oglala, and Jeremy, on winning the pool and Mario Kart tournaments! Thank you, friends from Watertown, for coming out and helping us make this a great night for our teenagers. Happy New Year, everyone & God's richest blessings for 2013!!!
